people, guard borders, assist law enforcement efforts and protect
industrial facilities.
We have an immediate need for an individual who will be responsible for
leading an Integrated Product Team in the support and development of new
and existing products, handle significant technical challenges and
revenue impact to the Precision Optics Division at FLIR Systems.
Products are highly complex optical components and coatings and
assemblies for use in imaging and targeting systems, with development
budgets of up to $5 million or more. Selected individual will be
responsible and accountable for cost, schedule and performance, and all
other tasks necessary to make the projects a success. Directly manages
and leads a diverse team of design and process engineers and exerts
leadership over other functional departments of the company.
We're looking for talented engineer/manager who has extensive knowledge
of thin film design and a strong background in optical design theory.
You will provide the vacuum technicians with coating designs and analyze
the results. You will be responsible for troubleshooting coating issues
and developing and integrating new processes into production. It will be
necessary to have a hands on approach to vacuum system mechanics and

[Springfield, VA, Nov. 1, 2006] – The Society for New Communications
Research has named Edward Lundquist of Springfield, Va., as the
recipient of the 2006 Professional Award of Merit. The Society’s awards
program honors innovative organizations and professionals who are
pioneering the use of social media (i.e., blogs, wikis, podcasts,
collaborative tools and other forms of participatory communications) in
the areas of marketing, public relations and advertising, politics,
entertainment, academics, and community and cultural development. In
addition to the Professional Award of Merit, awards in academic and
business categories were also presented at the Society's inaugural gala
at the Colonnade Hotel in Boston, held November 1.
As the creator, publisher and editor of the Job of the Week newsletter,
