*** Greater Washington Chapter Surface Navy Association Wounded Warrior

Project

For the past two years, the Greater Washington Chapter of the Surface Navy Association has conducted a campaign to assist our wounded shipmates recovering at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. We collected more than 800 DVDs for the Sailors and marines to enjoy during their recuperation. The following year we collected funds and donated 155 portable DVD players.

This year we want to do something very meaningful for those of our

shipmates limited in their ability to get out and around the Washington area during their convalescence. We have determined that Operation Second Chance provides many valuable services to military men and women, and would greatly benefit from a conversion van equipped too transport wheelchair patients in and around the D.C. area to attend sporting events, concerts, and other wise get out and about.

This is an expensive proposition, but very important for those men and women who are virtually stuck in the hospital. We have carefully looked at Operation Second Chance and are very impressed with the organization and the services it provides.

Therefore, SNA GWC is seeking to help OSC raise $30,000 to purchase a conversion van modified by Adaptive Mobility Systems, Inc. (AMS Vans). Please indicate your contribution at the SNA website:

https://www.navysna.org/Events/OperationSecondChance.asp

This will take you directly to the OSC website fundraising page for

donations. (When prompted “How did your hear about OSC?” click on

Surface Navy Association.) Your donation will be made directly to OSC, but we want to track our progress so we can follow our progress to attaining our $30,000 goal.

Our goal is to help OSC raise the $30,000 by December 15th. If we

exceed the $30,000, the additional funds will be available to OSC for insurance, registration, maintenance and operating costs for the van.

Please be generous, and share this appeal with others who share your

concern for those shipmates who had made a very great sacrifice in

service to their nation and security and freedom everywhere.

Agencies urge Congress to act on threat posed by stateless sublike watercraft

By Katherine McIntire Peters

On Friday, senior officials from agencies at Homeland Security, Justice and the Defense departments, and the White House urged lawmakers to act on legislation that would criminalize the operation of stateless self-propelled semisubmersible vessels before Congress adjourns on Sept. 26.

Twice in the previous six days, the Coast Guard boarded such submarinelike craft loaded with cocaine bound for the U.S. market. Both vessels, which are about 60 feet long and can be underway for several thousand miles, were built in Colombia and used sophisticated electronics, Coast Guard officials said.

The concern is such vessels, known as SPSS craft, could be used to ferry weapons of mass destruction to the United States. They are difficult to detect on radar and relatively easy to build and operate. Officials estimate more than 32 percent of all cocaine smuggled into the country now is transported this way.

(Think this will help?)

Of course it will. Would anyone dare using one of them if they knew that they'd face certain prosecution? Why, if only there had been a law on the books prohibiting the use of commercial airliners as lethal missiles, 9/11 would have never happened.

2.) Senior Marketing Advisory Board

I am in the process of helping a client put together a senior marketing advisory board. The company builds and sells electronic devises that enhance personalized micro-displays/viewers. The company is targeting the military markets, commercial training and simulations (medical scoping, flight simulation, quality training) and the consumer market in the area of video gaming, retail brands, advertising tie-ins and mobile devises (i-Pods, PSP's, PDA's)

We are seeking experts who can serve on their advisory board and be

compensated with stock/cash. We seek people in each category of military, commercial and consumer markets.

Can you recommend individuals that would fall into military/government category? I would need their names, contact info and a brief thumbnail bio.

For example a perfect person for the military would be a retired senior officer of procurement from one of the branches of the armed services or a senior VP sales director for defense contractor.

Any ideas would be great. Thank you in advance. I realize and recognize this is a hard one and any assistance would be appreciated.
