JOTW Rock n' Roll Trivia Quiz for 24 November 2008

This group, originally formed to raise funds to support the Tottenham Hotspurs (Spurs) Football Club in London, was the first “British Invasion” band to tour the U.S. and had more appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show than any other U.K. group.

The Dave Clark Five made 18 appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, more than the Beatles or the Stones, or any other UK group.

During one tour they sold out 12 sold out shows at Carnegie Hall in three days.

They sold more than 100 million records, including more than two dozen U.S. top 100 hits.

Most rock groups tuck their drummer in the back. Not the DC5. As the leader, Dave's drumkit was front and centre, and the rest of the band backed him up.
