The Sensis Advanced Development (AD) division is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented leader as a senior staff engineer for our Reston Technology Center (RTC) team. The AD organization performs both internal research and development (R&D) in support of our Air Traffic Systems (ATS) and Defense & Security Systems (D&SS) divisions, as well as performing significant contract engineering R&D services for the Federal Government. Our primary external customers are the FAA and NASA. AD has a large team spread across the Seagull Technology Center (STC) in Campbell, California, RTC in Reston, Virginia, and our corporate headquarters in Syracuse, New York (NTC). This position leads a group of ~10 system and software engineers at our technology center in Reston. The engineering team is expected to grow significantly over the next year, and the Senior ATM Research Staff Engineer would make a significant contribution to achieving that growth.
The RTC Senior ATM Research Staff Engineer reports to the Director of the Reston Technology Center. The Senior ATM Research Staff Engineer will be a key element in support of business development and project management for Sensis AD with the FAA and NASA customer community. The Senior ATM Research Staff Engineer will provide significant high level technical guidance as well as programmatic guidance for both AD and ATS programs and customers and, depending on the background and experience of the individual, he or she may be expected to be an individual technical contributor on specific projects.
Technical resources within AD are shared and multitasked across all three facilities (NTC, RTC, STC), and the RTC Senior ATM Research Staff Engineer will work closely with the senior management in each of the other two facilities to ensure the best balance is met in achieving our overall corporate objectives for both project and business development success. The RTC Senior ATM Research Staff Engineer will function as an air traffic management subject matter expert and will liaise regularly with senior personnel from the ATS and D&SS organizations to support coordination of activities across the three Sensis technology centers.
The Senior ATM Research Staff Engineer will be responsible for:
' Providing high level technical guidance and support for RTC and AD engineering teams, and ensuring overall project success, customer satisfaction, and smooth engineering staff operations.
' Leading RTC engineering support of business development, specifically in support of FAA and NASA opportunities.
' Support AD and ATS in business development and program support for both NextGen and SESAR initiatives.

The ideal candidate has:
' Knowledge of current air traffic management, airline operations, and airport operations.
' Knowledge of advanced air traffic management concepts and the FAA/JPDO NextGen plans
' Knowledge of modeling, simulation, and benefits analysis; flight, guidance, and control theory; communications, navigation and surveillance technologies.
' Experience and contacts in the FAA, NASA, airline, and airport community and a good understanding of how they operate
' Led highly technical aerospace research projects, including multiple team members in other companies.
' Masters or PhD degree in a technical field preferred, involving ATM or operations research desired.

Job Description
Under general supervision, operates water purification equipment to provide potable and non-potable water for human consumption and industrial use. Controls pumps and water valves into treating plant to maintain production levels. Administers chemicals into untreated water to disinfect, sterilize, deodorize, and clarify water. Regulates water through filter beds to remove contaminants. Cleans water tanks and filter beds. Performs regular maintenance on equipment and tests samples. Maintains records at facilities.
Basic Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent and 3 years directly related experience required. Certification as a water purification specialist required.
Other Job Requirements
Experience in water purification or a related trade such as plumbing or electrical. Preferred candidates have US military experience as a Water Purification Specialists. Follow instructions and meet set standards; Judge distances and slopes accurately; and make decisions based on verifiable standards. Physically, workers must be able to: Stoop, bend, and crouch; Use hands, arms, and legs fully; See well (either naturally or with correction); and lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions, including lifting and carrying 25 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. To ensure safety, health and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand) or have a translator available.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates have US military experience as Water Purification Specialists.
Prior Military, Contingency Operations and/or LOGCAP experience.
