POSITION DETAILS: 
Our client is seeking the assistance of a mid-level, video production professional who is organized and detail-oriented, and can execute a creative vision. Great people skills are a must.

* Assist in the project management of recorded plenary session vignettes and live event stage elements.
* Research potential vignette stories and characters.
* Coordinate communication w/ speakers and story characters, including: gather assets, coordinating rehearsal needs.
* Manage scripts during the pre-rehearsal process, including: coordinating edits with the writers.
* Coordinate visual asset research and delivery. Secure rights to photos and other assets from photo and video archives and databases.
* Assemble component script, asset, show, and production elements.


HOURS / LOCATION:
We are ideally looking for someone to start immediately and work in a full-time capacity for approximately the next five months, through the end of March 2016.
We are only interested in talking with applicants who can work a regular schedule — i.e. 40-hours/week. Also, we expect that there will be regular opportunities to earn overtime pay (evening and/or weekend work) throughout this engagement, and particularly in the weeks immediately preceding the hiring organization’s conference, and during the conference.

This is an on-site position. Most work will be done at the organization’s offices in NW, DC. Some work will be done at the conference. Both locations are easily accessible via car, Metrorail and Metrobus.


RATE:
We are suggesting a pay rate range of between $35/hr and $45/hr, which we believe is in-line with the position requirements. This broad range reflects our interest in hearing from early- AND mid-career individuals who bring the proper credentials and experience. The pay rate range is equivalent to an annual salary range of $70K to $90K. The actual rate offered will be commensurate with your experience and will be largely based on the following factors: credentials as detailed in your resume, your interview experiences with Brainstorm Creative Resources and/or our client, and quality of reference providers and references provided.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have completed their junior year of undergraduate study and have at least a B average. The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor of social media to teach and conduct quantitative research in this growing area.

 

The Cronkite School, located on ASU’s Downtown Phoenix Campus in the nation’s 13th largest media market, is a global leader in professional and innovative digital news media and public relations education. The school champions a “teaching hospital” model. It is the home to a dozen immersive professional programs and operates Arizona PBS, one of the nation’s largest public television stations which reaches 1.9 million households across 80 percent of the state.

 

Required qualifications are a Ph.D. with an emphasis on multivariate statistical analysis, analytic tools and software. The ideal candidate will have a background in public relations, strategic communications, business/consumer behavior, social psychology or a related field.

 

The Cronkite School offers Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, Master of Mass Communication and Ph.D. degrees. The school is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. ASU is a large Research I institution.

 

Over the last six years the Cronkite School added more than 20 top journalists and scholars to the faculty. The school’s professional programs including those in Phoenix, Washington and Los Angeles immerse students in the practice of digital journalism and public relations.

Robbers boarded an anchored bulk carrier unnoticed. Duty crew on routine rounds noticed the pad locks to the bosun stores were damaged and ship’s stores were stolen. Incident report to port control.

 

207-15   15.08.2015: 0230 LT: Posn: 01:02N – 103:38E, Around 6.6nm SW of Pulau Takong Kecil, Indonesia.

Eight robbers armed with long knives boarded a container ship underway using hooks attached with ropes. They took hostage the duty oiler, tied his hands and feet and put a cloth bag over his head. The boarding was noticed by the duty watch keeper who raised the alarm. Crew mustered and a search was carried out. Seeing the alerted crew the robbers escaped without stealing anything. VTIS Singapore informed. Coast guard boarded the ship for investigation.

 

206-15   29.10.2015: Posn: 22:40N – 069:56E, Reliance Crude Anchorage, India.

Unnoticed robbers boarded an anchored tanker via the anchor chain, stole ship’s properties from the forecastle and escaped. The theft was noticed by duty crew on routine rounds. PFSO informed.

 

205-15   24.10.2015: 0830 LT: Posn: 06:20N – 010:51W, Monrovia Anchorage, Liberia.

Unnoticed robbers boarded an anchored bulk carrier, stole ship’s properties and escaped. The theft was noticed when the crew noticed the padlock to the safety locker broken. Incident reported to local agents.

  • Scout potential locations and vendors that fit the goals of Project Odyssey
  • Manage Project Odyssey and CSRP inventory
  • Outreach to warriors in region who are living with combat stress
  • Provide education and support to mental health counselors working with Project Odyssey
  • Develop schedules and itineraries for the event
  • Develop appropriate programming and resources for the event
  • Facilitate group activities and de-brief program events
  • Recruit warriors for Project Odyssey, including distributing and collecting applications
  • Distribute and collect necessary paperwork (e.g. pre-post surveys, HIPAA forms, waivers, etc.)
  • Build relationships with activity vendors and support resources
  • Help develop Odyssey toolkit for consistent programs and activities in all schedule events
  • Recruit trained Peer Mentors for Project Odyssey
  • Provide support to warriors on the program
  • Participate in highly physical adventure learning activities including but not limited to, high and low ropes courses, water sports, hiking, climbing, and horseback riding
  • Assist Specialists and Managers with any additional follow up support, if necessary

  • Experience assisting military or veteran populations in support of development and readjustment preferred.  Must have working knowledge of military and veteran issues, particularly with Iraq and Afghanistan military and veterans
  • A background working in a behavioral health setting is preferred
  • Experience in event planning or recreational programming is recommended

Raleigh International is recruiting Communications Officers to volunteer on our 13 week expeditions next this September in Malaysian Borneo and Tanzania. If you have experience in communications, copywriting, marketing or PR you could be the right person to join one of our international teams and contribute to creating lasting change.

 

The Communications Officer role helps bring our expeditions to life. You’ll be situated both at fieldbase (Raleigh’s in-country headquarters), and on the road visiting Raleigh’s community, environment and adventure projects gathering material for blogs and our social media channels. You will work closely with the expedition photographer, volunteers and other project managers to generate a variety of media to showcase the progress and achievements of the expeditions.

 

All our volunteer managers are encouraged to fundraise for Raleigh International before the expedition, but once you are in country, Raleigh will cover the cost of your food, accommodation, training and preparation, specialist equipment, and insurance (excluding personal belongings cover). In addition to this target, you will need to fund your own flights to and from the expedition country, vaccinations, personal kit and a visa, if required.

 

Once you have submitted your application you will then be invited to attend an assessment weekend. If you are based overseas, a telephone or Skype interview can be arranged.

 

Plan ahead and use your creative and communications skills in a dramatically different environment next spring.

We are conducting a search for a Digital Communications Manager. The position will be based at the company’s headquarters in El Dorado, AR. This individual will be responsible for implementing a strategic digital communications program, developing the strategy and voice for the organization’s social channels, and giving shape to internal and external digital messaging and branding. He/she will manage all components of the online presence and act as the digital editorial lead.

 

The Role

  • Assess current digital capabilities, technology assets and social strategy across audiences and business units. Build and execute a cohesive digital communications plan for the evolving corporate brand and seek to actively expand the digital footprint.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, new media or a related field.

Position Summary:

 

The Director of Marketing and Communications will serve as the chief creative professional in the organization, overseeing all marketing and communications functions, including brand management, strategic planning for key objectives, media relations, internal and external communications, social media, graphic design, the BBYO.org website, marketing and traditional and digital advertising for all of BBYO’s products – membership, summer and school year travel programs and key events and initiatives. AB on anti-piracy watch onboard an anchored bulk carrier noticed six robbers climbing onto the forecastle using a rope attached to a hook. He notified the OOW who raised the alarm and crew mustered. Seeing the alerted crew the robbers escaped. A search was carried out and nothing found stolen. Port authority and local agent informed.

 

203-15   22.10.2015: 0530 LT: Posn: 01:06.8N – 103:32.0E, Around 7.57nm ENE of Pulau Karimun Besar, Indonesia.

Three robbers armed with long knives boarded a bulk carrier underway using a rope ladder. Duty oiler sighted the robbers in the Engine Room Store and immediately informed the bridge. The Master raised the alarm followed by PA announcement. Upon hearing the alarm and seeing the alerted crew, the robbers escaped with stolen ship’s stores. VTIS Singapore informed. An Indonesian naval vessel approached the bulk carrier for assistance. Upon arrival Singapore the Coast Guard boarded for investigation.

Pirates armed with submachine guns boarded a refrigerated cargo ship underway. They opened fire, damaged some equipment, stole ship’s cash, kidnapped four crew members and escaped. The remaining crew were able to retreat to the engine room. Nigerian authorities notified.

Two suspicious high speed skiffs approached a LPG tanker underway. 2/O immediately informed Master who in turn raised the alarm and made announcements. As the skiffs approached the vessel, the Master increased speed and took evasive manoeuvres resulting in the skiffs aborting and moving away.

 

200-15   18.10.2015: 0900 LT: Posn: 10:06.7N – 107:06.9E, Mui Vung Tau Anchorage, Vietnam.

Duty AB on routine rounds onboard an anchored tanker noticed two robbers on the poop deck. He shouted at them and retreated to a safe location and raised the alarm. Crew mustered and approached the robbers. Seeing the alert crew, the robbers escaped. A search was carried out and nothing found stolen. Vung Tau port control informed.

 

199-15   15.10.2015: 0540 LT: Posn: 01:10.9N – 103:26.4E, Around 2.85nm NE of Pulau Karimun Kecil, Indonesia.

Six robbers in a small boat boarded a tanker underway using hooks attached with ropes. Two of the robbers entered the engine room and were spotted by the 2/E. One of the robbers threatened the 2/E with an long knife and signalled him to be quiet or he would cut his throat. The 2/E escaped and raised the alarm. Crew mustered. Hearing the alarm and seeing the crew alertness, the robbers escaped. Nothing was reported stolen. VTIS Singapore informed. Authorities boarded the tanker for investigation.

Duty crew onboard a bulk carrier underway noticed a speed boat approaching the ship. Alarm raised, crew mustered and search light directed towards the speedboat. Seeing the crew alertness, the robbers aborted and move away.

 

197-15   15.10.2015: 0320 LT: Posn: 01:07N – 103:31E, Around 6.3nm East of Pulau Karimun Kecil, Indonesia.

3/E noticed four robbers armed with long knives opening the aft door to the engine room workshop. 3/E and Junior Engineer were taken hostage and their hands tied up. The robbers stole their personal belongings and spare parts and escaped. Junior Engineer managed to free himself and alerted the other crew members. A search was carried.

 

196-15   10.10.2015: 0915 LT: Posn: 4.5nm SE of Olanivan Island, General Santos Port, Philippines.

While enroute to Tambler, General Santos City, a general cargo ship noticed two speed boats with seven persons armed with guns approaching. Suspecting a boarding attempt the Master instructed the crew to close and lock all access to the vessel’s accommodation. The armed robbers boarded the vessel but departed when they could not enter into the accommodation. The Master raised the alarm, informed the local authorities and notified the owners. A coast guard vessel was dispatched to investigate.

The United States Naval War College (NWC) anticipates a full-time faculty opening in the Center for Naval Warfare Studies (CNWS) in Newport, RI, and invites applications for the position of Professor with rank and salary commensurate with experience and credentials.

 

The Naval War College is a graduate-level Professional Military Education institution serving the Nation, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. Navy. The College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and offers a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.

 

CNWS serves as the nexus for broad-based, advanced research on the naval contribution to a national strategy. The Center produces scholarship and original research and fosters critical and innovative thinking on current and evolving operational challenges of importance for the Navy and the nation. The Center links the Naval War College to the fleet and policymakers in Washington by serving as a focal point for strategic and operational thought; by integrating strategic, operational, and tactical concepts; by linking strategic concerns with technological developments; and finally, by testing and evaluating concepts through methods including war gaming, operations research, policy analysis, and traditional scholarship.

 

The prospective faculty member will be a member of the Center’s China Maritime Studies Institute (CMSI). He or she will focus primarily on the People’s Republic of China’s naval, military, and national security strategies, policies, and capabilities, especially involving regions and potential crisis areas with significant maritime implications. He or she should focus on issues affecting core U.S. national security interests, including but not limited to Asian security broadly defined, Chinese decision-making and civil-military-relations, naval and maritime capabilities, nuclear strategy and operations, and Chinese relations with its neighbors in the Indo-Pacific.

 

Qualified candidates should have a terminal degree from an accredited university; a research-oriented Ph.D. is preferred. A high degree of competency in reading and speaking the Chinese (Mandarin) language is highly desirable. The best candidates will have experience in evaluating strategic, operational, and tactical concepts; knowledge of relevant military systems; and a sound background in research methods. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and capable of obtaining a Department of Defense TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.

 

The selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment drug screening test and to random drug testing thereafter. Any current or prior military service should be described including assignments, positions held, highest rank attained, and dates of service.
