DePaul University’s College of Communication is excited to launch the Master’s in Professional Communication which will start in Fall 2021. This one-year, fully online program prepares mid-career communication professionals for leadership roles on teams and within organizations. Students will benefit from extensive cross-college expertise, engaging in real-world problem-solving while building a valuable professional network.

Duty engine crew onboard a bulk carrier underway noticed four robbers in the engine room and notified the bridge. Alarm raised and crew mustered. Seeing the alerted crew, the robbers escaped with the stolen engine spares. Incident reported to VTS.


065-21   21.06.2021: 1940 UTC: Posn: 14:33.9N – 120:55.2E, Manila Anchorage, Philippines.

Unnoticed, robbers boarded an anchored container ship and escaped with ship’s stores. The theft was discovered by the duty crew during routine rounds. Incident reported to the Port Authorities via the local agent.


064-21   24.06.2021: 2136 UTC: Posn: 05:59.50S – 106:54.20E, Jakarta Anchorage, Indonesia.

Two persons boarded a container ship during anchoring operations. Duty AB noticed the unauthorised persons and raised the alarm. Seeing the alerted crew, the persons escaped in a waiting boat with another four persons onboard. Incident reported to the coast guard who boarded for investigation. Nothing reported stolen.
