IABC Heritage Region is currently seeking speakers for the 2013 Regional Conference October 13 – 15 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The conference will consist of approximately twenty 75-minute breakout sessions and in-depth 3-hour sessions on key topics affecting today’s business communicators. It is anticipated the conference will draw close to 250 communicators from the Northeast and Midwest United States.

Job Description Lead the development and implementation of integrated communication strategies in support of Field Communications strategic priorities and client business objectives. Communication strategies primarily encompass field communications, but may extend to employee, external (public and media relations).
Develop and employ print and electronic media solutions that inform, educate, and influence the primary field audiences, as well as a range of target audiences which may include the company’s clients, prospects, key influencers, employees and other stakeholders.

Job Qualifications Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or social sciences.
• At least six years of progressive experience in professional communications, public relations, organizational communications, marketing, training or related communication field. Emphasis on integrated communication planning is highly desirable.
• Strong professional communications skills including business and communications writing; public speaking in small- and large-group settings; and one-to-one interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to listen to, engage, and influence clients; synthesize and relate complex information; analyze communication problems and opportunities; and develop and implement integrated communicationstrategies.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and counsel senior business managers in the appropriate use of communication strategies and tactics to inform and influence target audiences.
• Combination of communications consulting experience in both agency and internal corporate settings is preferred.
• Experience and proficiency with a range of external and internal communication solutions: face-to-face; print and electronic channels; media relations; creative media solutions.
• Polished organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of social media applications preferred.

Two robbers armed with long knives boarded an anchored bulk carrier via the anchor chain. Duty crew noticed the robbers and raised the alarm. All crew mustered and rushed to the forecastle. On seeing the crew alertness, the robbers escaped empty handed in their speed boat.

About six robbers in a speed boat approached and boarded a barge under two, stole barge properties and escaped. Later the same evening a speedboat with five persons wearing camouflage uniforms approached the tug. Two of the persons boarded the tug and took hostage the duty bosun and held him face down at knife point. Seeing the boarding the Master raised the alarm and all crew mustered. Seeing the crew alertness, the persons in the camouflage uniforms left the tug without stealing anything.
