  • Support PBS executive speakers’ bureau, identifying      opportunities for senior executives to speak at events and conferences.
  • Produce sessions for PBS’ portion of the Television      Critics Association Press Tour and support overall PBS social media and      Press Tour logistics as needed.
  • Provide communications and logistical support for PBS      events.
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • 5+ years of public relations experience, including      creation of press materials (press releases, talking points, press plans),      managing campaigns and projects, and managing assets (photography, video,      etc.)
  • 2+ years of direct responsibility for media      relations

MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED: 

Bachelor’s degree in English, mass communications, journalism or related field

SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

  • Excellent knowledge and awareness of TV and      entertainment industry, including top TV and interactive press, blogs and      twitter users

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Digital Editor will report to the program’s Content Director, top editing copy for all digital platforms (web, social and mobile) and assisting in the management of junior digital team members.  The Senior Digital Editor will also partner with print counterparts to execute on a fully integrated print and digital program.

Specific duties include:

  • Manage specific channels or verticals on the program web site – developing story ideas that will entertain and drive engagement, coordinating with art department as needed
  • Coordinate with the Community Manager to solicit user-submitted content, for the purpose of increasing engagement and building a database of user-submitted content for use throughout the program
  • Develop creative content ideas for editorial that is mission driven, engaging and fun and that encourages audience community participation across platforms.
  • Contribute to and help manage editorial and production calendars
  • Assist in guiding content through workflow and client-approval process
  • Top-edit and write content; enter content into the CMS (Ektron)
  • Measure traffic to digital properties and analyze data in order to tweak and grow the program
  • Work closely with sales and marketing team to execute on sponsored content opportunities Assist the online and print editors with content development as needed.
  • Stay abreast of trends in retail, content marketing and employee communications to inform a market leading lifestyle content program that heightens employee engagement and supports activation and participation from key marketing partners.
  • Travel as required to perform above duties.

 

Job Qualifications:

 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in digital media/journalism or related field.

Experience:  Minimum of 5 years of hands-on digital programming experience—lifestyle content; management experience a plus

Requirements

  • Excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to conceptualize articulate and execute an editorial vision.
  • Excellent organizational skills

THE PIRATES TRIED TO BOARD THE VESSEL USING HOOKS ATTACHED TO A ROPE. THE ONBOARD SECURITY TEAM FIRED WARNING SHOTS AT THE BOAT AND THE PIRATES RETALIATED BY RETURNING FIRE. FACING RESISTANCE THE PIRATES ABORTED THE ATTEMPT TO BOARD THE VESSEL.

 

177-13  03.09.2013: 2110 LT: Posn: 10:13.98N – 107:02.05E, Vung Tau Anchorage, Vietnam.

 

Six robbers disguised as fishermen boarded a chemical tanker at anchor. Duty AB noticed the robbers and informed bridge. Alarm raised and crew moved forward. On seeing the alert crew, the robbers jumped overboard and escaped with ship’s stores. All crew safe.

 

176-13  28.08.2013: 2330 LT: Posn: 20:56N – 107:19E, Cam Pha Anchorage, Vietnam.

 

Six robbers boarded an anchored bulk carrier via the anchor chain and hawse pipe by removing the cover and anchor lashing. They cut open the padlock to the forecastle store and stole ship’s properties. Duty officer noticed the robbers and raised the alarm. Hearing the alarm, the robbers escaped with stolen ship stores. Incident reported to the local police who boarded the ship for investigation.

 

175-13  27.08.2013: 2025 LT: Posn: 22:11N – 091:42E, Chittagong Anchorage, Bangladesh.

 

16 robbers in two boats approached an anchored container ship. Five robbers armed with long knives boarded the ship and began to lower ship’s stores into their boats. Duty officer noticed the robbers, raised the alarm and crew mustered. Seeing crew alertness the robbers escaped with stolen ship stores. Incident reported to the coast guard.

 

174-13  23.08.2013: 1125 LT: Belawan Port, Indonesia.

 

Three robbers in a motor boat approached a berthed live stock carrier. Two robbers boarded the ship while the other robber remained in the boat. Duty crew noticed that the robbers were stealing ship’s properties and reported to the D/O who raised the alarm and alerted the crew. Seeing crew alertness the robbers escaped with the stolen properties. Incident reported to Belawan Port Authority which dispatched a coast guard patrol boat to investigate.
