The American Veterinary Medical Association, a national not-for-profit
association established in 1863 and representing over 80,000
veterinarians, is seeking an Exhibits Specialist for our Convention and
Meeting Planning Division located in our Schaumburg, IL office.
This key position is responsible for the sales and management of booth
space in the AVMA exhibit hall and related activities at AVMA's premier
event – the AVMA Annual Convention with total attendance of 10,000. The
Exhibits Specialist is the primary liaison with our exhibitors and
responsibilities include developing an integrative sales and marketing
plan for marketing to potential exhibitors; management of exhibit hall
onsite; implementing sponsorship activities; and tracking and data
analysis of convention attendance.
Job Requirements
The qualified candidate will have a BS/BA degree or equivalent work
experience; with 5+ years of experience in exhibit sales, logistics
management and coordination, association experience preferred. Excellent
written & verbal communication skills are required; superior customer
service and strong organizational and project management skills with
exceptional attention to detail are a must. Must have strong computer
skills, including data tracking and management. Minimal travel is
required.

CompTIA is currently recruiting a talented individual for our
Coordinator, Events & Conferences position. The selected individual
will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of CompTIA
events & conferences.
Job Duties Include:
. Manage conference program activities to include: Keeping event agendas
current for online and print publishing; Keeping speaker information
current in the database; And preparing and distributing speaker
correspondence (confirmation materials and follow-up)
. Responsible for signature process on all E&C vendor/facility contracts
. Manage department filing of signed contracts and completing process
with Legal
. Manage budget files for each E&C budget activity – track expenses,
compare department records with Finance records, and address
discrepancies
. Serve as the point person for the Events section of CompTIA.org and
coordinate with marketing and the web team to ensure that the calendar
is current, event-specific information is current and links are working
. Liaison with staging vendor for CompTIA stage set shipping and up-keep
. Coordinate and execute department shipments to events to include
packing materials, making arrangements with the shipment company and
scheduling the pick-up(s), tracking the shipments and managing the
shipment manifests
. Provide event planning and management support to the staff committee
responsible for CompTIA staff events and activities
. Provide onsite event support as assigned
. Perform other duties as required by business needs
Qualifications Include:
. BA/BS in business, marketing, communications or related area required
. Internships and extracurricular activities involving live events
preferred
. Strong communication skills (oral and written) required
. Strong customer service and team orientation required
. Detail oriented and able to handle a variety of duties while meeting
deadlines
. Experience with Microsoft Office software and database management
required
. Entry level position
. Salary mid 30's
