***  Ceremonial christening and launch of Perry’s Longboat

 

You are cordially invited to join the Maritime Museum of Sandusky and the Perry Group- Friends of Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial for the ceremonial christening and launch of Perry’s Longboat.  The Longboat was commissioned by the Perry Group to be built for the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie.  The boat was constructed by John Riddle of Riddle Boat Works and is currently being finished at the Maritime Museum of Sandusky.

 

The christening and launch of Perry’s Longboat will be held at the Shelby Street Boat Ramp in downtown Sandusky, Ohio on Saturday June 15th at 10:00a.m.  It will coincide with the Maritime Museum’s Classic Boat Show at the Paper District Marina that same Saturday from 9am-5pm.  The Longboat will later be taken to Put-In-Bay for display at the Perry’s Victory International Peace Memorial and used in the Bicentennial Celebrations over Labor Day weekend.

 

Come join us and the local community in commemorating our history and the important role it played on a national scale in 1813.  This is a great opportunity to kick-off the Battle of Lake Erie Bicentennial Celebrations for 2013 and get a look at this beautiful Longboat before it sails into history!

Description of Duties:

 

The incumbent shall accomplish financial management tasks  as necessary to support day-to-day operations within ISR/SOF Med UAS. The incumbent shall:

 

·         Provide financial management and accounting functions, processes, and analytical methods to gather, analyze, evaluate, and present information required by the government.

 

·         Assist with program reports and financial documentation and ensure compliance with DoDD 5000.1/DoDI 5000.02, AFI 65 series, and DoD/AFMC/DFAS FM   instructions/associated regulations.

 

·         Assist in performing fact-finding, analytical, cost and advisory functions using automated financial management information systems.

 

·         Research and recommend options to the government concerning unliquidated obligations and negative unliquidated obligations (ULO/NULO) and canceling year funds.

 

·         Assist in the analysis of financial management processes, concepts, policies, procedures, systems, and provide to the government recommendations for improvement.

 

·         Assist with transformation, process re-engineering, and/or AFSO21 FM initiatives.

 

·         Analyze changes required for compliance, assessing the impacts of the proposed changes.

 

·         Assist with the identification and development of program requirements related to cost, schedule, technical, and program risk.

 

·         Research/update government-approved financial data in systems including MOCAS, ABSS, BQ (H069),  EDA, SDW, FM Suite System, CRIS, CCars, and wInsight.

 

·         Assist with financial analysis with narrative justification for quick-turn budget exercises.

 

·         Assist with the TAR process for the division — three reviews annually of open and active documents.

Requirements for the Position:

 

·         Active Secret security clearance required.

 

·         Five years of financial management/analysis support experience; three years must be in a DoD acquisition program.

In addition, the candidate will be responsible for developing templates for use by various technical and administrative customers. Significant experience with composing, writing, and editing a variety of technical and administrative publications and have a proven record of comprehending complex technical concepts and terminology required. Expert level experience with Microsoft Word and the ability to apply Microsoft Word advanced features to develop and edit documents is required. Previous experience copyediting a variety of technical and administrative publications and must possess the ability to employ proper English usage, grammar, syntax, and spelling. Experience teaching and/or mentoring others. Superior oral and written communication skills required. Ability to maintain a high-volume workload that includes a wide-variety of complex assignments. Experience using and applying The Chicago Manual of Style and Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association in creating and editing publications required. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
