***  Silver Quill Extension: Deadline is now July 18

You have one more week:

Be recognized for your best work.

We’re almost at deadline … and we have good news!

First, the problem: While we have received quite a number of entries, some who want to enter their best communication projects in the IABC Heritage Region Silver Quill program have been experiencing internal delays as they seek final information and approvals right after the holiday. And we know this is the first time Silver Quill has used the AwardSentry™ online entry system. It’s easy to use―and you don’t have to worry about shipping―but the change is still an adjustment.

The solution: Although the initial deadline was intended to be firm, we have found a way to open the door for one more week. You can still enter Silver Quill as long as your entries are submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 18.

Why enter Silver Quill? During the past year and a half, you’ve likely been involved in projects that shine―both strategically and creatively. Silver Quill gives you an outstanding opportunity for recognition and feedback.

Spanning 17 states and Washington, D.C., Silver Quill is open to IABC members as well as non-members. Winning entries demonstrate standout work that work meets specific objectives―e.g., boosting revenue, reducing cost, and motivating audiences to a desired action.

Winners will be recognized in a variety of ways, including a news release, a certificate or trophy, an announcement on the IABC Heritage Region website and a presentation at the IABC Heritage Region Conference, taking place in Providence, R.I., Oct. 19 – 21, 2014. Silver Quill winners who attend will receive awards Sunday evening, Oct. 19. We will ship awards to any who miss the conference.

Eligible projects must be implemented, published or broadcast between January 1, 2013, and the day of submission. The extended submission deadline is Friday, July 18, 2014. Entries that have won Heritage Region Silver Quill previously cannot be accepted.

For information, go to http://heritageregion.iabc.com/2014-silver-quill-awards/.

For specific guidelines, the call for entries and online entry tools, go to http://iabc.awardsentry.org/heritagesilverquill

New this year:

– Take advantage of a convenient and proven online entry tool (AwardSentry). This change will save you time, as well as packaging, duplication and shipping costs.

– Benefit from closer alignment with the international Gold Quill Awards program than ever before. You’ll receive feedback from highly qualified judges vetted through International HQ.

If you have questions, contact Amy Miller, 2014 Heritage Region Silver Quill chair, at amy.miller@lexisnexis.com.
