“Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past.”

~Henry Ward Beecher

*** From Harry Jaeger:

WE HOPE YOUR CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION WAS AS MERRY, JOYFUL AND HAPPY AS THE CELEBRATION WAS IN THE JAEGER HOUSEHOLD.

Many hours have been spent on the Zuni-Tamaroa since the ship's arrival in Newport News, VA on October 3, 2007. We've been introducing our needs to local supporters and adding volunteers who wish to give their time helping in the preservation and restoration of the Zuni-Tamaroa.

The media coverage has been outstanding, 2 TV stations covered our arrival on October 3, (WVEC Channel 13 and WKRT Channel 3), 2 newspapers (The Newport News Daily Press on November 25 and Richmond Times-Dispatch on December 13). We also had a visit from the editor of a maritime magazine (her article should appear in their January/February issue). For details enter www.zunimaritime.org.

McAllister Towing of VA has been very generous in letting us temporarily moor at their facility while we work with politicians on a permanent homeport for the ship.

We are scheduling a work weekend 4-5-6 January 2008. We live on the ship during work weekends. If you are interested in joining us, please reply via this email of call 804-273-0247.
